How is IPL different from a laser?
IPL treatments in Westlake are different from laser treatments because they use a broadband spectrum of light to deliver effective results, whereas lasers use monochromatic light to target very specific concerns.
IPL photofacials work by using specific wavelengths of high-intensity light, using short blasts of light to target the pigment in your skin and destroy it.
Over time, areas of your skin may darken from age, sun damage, and even trauma to the skin. IPL photofacials leverage the science of your skin’s reaction to light to restore your skin’s color and tone, making it even and smooth.
IPL photofacials provide more than just solutions for aging and sun-damaged skin. There are many benefits to using intense pulsed light for your skin concerns.

Not sure where to start? With our Treatment Planning Tool, you can find the best treatments based on your unique aesthetic needs.
Before your IPL appointment, you’ll meet with one of our expert providers for a personal consultation. They will sit with you and chat about your medical history and specific aesthetic issues. Together, you will both work together to create a treatment plan that helps you accomplish your goals and improve your skin.
Your IPL treatment will begin with your provider cleansing your skin. We will offer a topical numbing solution if pain or discomfort is a concern for you, but many clients can complete their treatment without it. For about 30 minutes, your provider will use a handheld wand that emits a broad spectrum of light to improve your skin.
There is minimal downtime needed after your IPL treatment in Westlake, and many clients can return to their daily activities as normal. You will be able to see results immediately following your treatment session, but won’t achieve your full results until about 4 to 6 weeks after your last session.

Each practice works synergistically with the other to provide the best holistic array of women’s health choices. Established by physicians who are also family (mother and daughters), and staffed with other skilled female physicians, our conjoined practices deliver the care you need—head to toe, inside and out.
